Make shines when you want to connect several SaaS tools, APIs and AI steps visually into recurring workflows without writing custom code for every integration. Its visual scenario editor makes the data flow between modules visible and gets you up and running quickly. For very compute-heavy logic, high data volume per second, or requirements that demand full control over the runtime, we'd rather point you to a dedicated backend, for example with Node.js or Python.
How do you actually go about building a Make scenario?
We start with the process, not the tool: what triggers it, which data flows, who needs to approve, and what happens when something fails. From that we build the scenario so it's not just clickable but also maintainable and traceable – with a clean module structure, clear naming and documented assumptions. That way someone who didn't build it from scratch can still adjust it later.
How do you connect Make to our existing systems like CRM, shop or ERP?
Make ships with ready-made modules for many common SaaS tools; everything else we connect via webhooks and the respective REST APIs. This lets us orchestrate interfaces between CRM, shop, ERP and marketing tools, enriching, routing or summarising data along the way with AI steps. We set up authentication and access so they fit your approval and security rules.
What happens when a step in the workflow fails?
Clean error paths are a must for us, not a nice-to-have: we build in retries for temporary glitches, define what should happen on permanent failures, and set up notifications so nothing stalls unnoticed in the background. For AI steps we add validation and, where needed, a human approval before a result moves on. That keeps automation reliable instead of turning it into a black box.
