What TYPO3 is – and which version matters
TYPO3 is an open-source CMS for large websites. It is licensed under the GNU General Public License, so there are no license fees. Its strengths are multilingual content, finely graded permissions and workspaces in which editors prepare and approve changes.
The current version is TYPO3 14 LTS, released on 21 April 2026. It receives free security and maintenance updates until 30 June 2029. TYPO3 13 LTS is maintained until 31 December 2027. Free maintenance for TYPO3 12 ended on 30 April 2026; after that, security updates are only available through the paid ELTS program from TYPO3 GmbH.
If your website still runs on version 12 or older, plan the upgrade now. We check your extensions first, then move version by version. Request the upgrade check: you get a list of what is needed and an effort range.

Security
Critical PHP flaws: TYPO3 asks every installation to update PHP
The TYPO3 Security Team warns of two critical vulnerabilities in PHP itself; according to the PHP project they allow code execution without login. The TYPO3 core is not affected and needs no update. The fix is PHP 8.5.12, 8.4.27, 8.3.36 or 8.2.35, released on 21 October 2026. The PHP project no longer ships updates for versions before 8.2.
What this means for you: Check the PHP version on your TYPO3 servers or ask your host whether the update is installed. Below PHP 8.2 an upgrade is due.

On 22 October 2026, maintenance releases appeared for every maintained TYPO3 line: 14.3.10 LTS, 13.4.37 LTS and ELTS versions for 12, 11 and 10. They move several Symfony components and the SVG sanitizer to newer versions because of security advisories. No database changes are needed.
What this means for you: Install the update in your next maintenance window. With no database changes it is a small step with a security gain.
