Technology: Vue Storefront

VUESTOREFRONTHEADLESS FRONTEND

Vue Storefront is a headless storefront for e-commerce: a fast frontend that connects via API to backends like Shopware, Commercetools or Magento.

Vue Storefront

We build withVue Storefront

Vue Storefront decouples frontend and shop backend. We use it to put fast, swappable storefronts on top of existing commerce platforms.

  • Frontend-as-a-service on Vue.js and Nuxt
  • Connectors to Shopware, Commercetools and Magento
  • Edge caching and SSR for short load times
  • Storefront UI as a customisable component system

Frontend independent of the backend

Vue Storefront talks to the shop backend only through APIs. The storefront can be renewed without touching the commerce system.

Performance out of the box

Server-side rendering, edge caching and lazy loading deliver fast pages – a direct lever on conversion and SEO.

Platform-agnostic connectors

Integrations for common shop systems keep the storefront portable and avoid a frontend vendor lock-in.

Storefront UI as a base

The bundled component system speeds up delivery and adapts fully to the brand.

Frontend replatforming

If an outdated frontend needs modernising without switching the shop backend, Vue Storefront provides a fast, decoupled interface.

Composable storefronts

As a frontend layer, Vue Storefront slots into a composable commerce architecture of best-of-breed services.

Frequently asked questions about Vue Storefront

When is Vue Storefront worth it for our shop?
Vue Storefront is worth it when your shop backend works well but the frontend is too slow, too rigid or looking dated. We put the headless storefront on top of existing platforms like Shopware, Commercetools or Magento, so you keep your backend and only decouple the frontend. It pays off most when fast load times and a distinctive look are business-critical.
How do you integrate Vue Storefront with our existing shop system?
Vue Storefront connects to your shop backend via API, and we rely on the existing connectors for Shopware, Commercetools or Magento. Your backend stays the source for catalogue, prices, cart and checkout, while the storefront sits in front as a decoupled frontend built on Vue.js and Nuxt. That way your business logic stays untouched and we build the interface fresh on top of it.
Can we design the frontend freely or are we tied to fixed templates?
You're free: we build the interface on Storefront UI, a customisable component system that we tailor to your branding and your buying journey. Because frontend and backend are decoupled, there are none of the rigid template limits you get with classic shop themes. Components can be extended, swapped out or built fully custom wherever you need it.
What does migrating to Vue Storefront look like without putting our shop at risk?
Since Vue Storefront only replaces the frontend and keeps using your backend through its API, the migration happens without touching your shop logic. We build the new storefront in parallel, wire up payment, search and tracking, and only go live after thorough testing. If you currently run a tightly coupled storefront, we plan the cut between backend API and new frontend carefully.
When is Vue Storefront NOT the right choice?
If your shop is small or your platform's standard storefront is enough, the extra effort of a decoupled architecture is rarely justified. Vue Storefront shines when you have high performance demands, a custom interface and larger catalogues, but it also adds a separate frontend codebase that has to be run and maintained. In those cases we'll tell you honestly whether a classic theme or a different headless setup is the better fit.
